The living room is one of the most used parts of a home. That’s why it pays to create a living space that emphasizes your taste while making it cozy and conducive for bonding. But if your living room could use a little sprucing up, we have prepared a list of ways to transform your living space from dull to wow:

A New Sofa

Do not underestimate the power of a new sofa. Your old, dirty sofa is bringing down the mood and is not helping create a beautiful space so why not invest in a stylish new sofa? Sofa comes in an array of colors and designs. That’s why when it comes to choosing yours, consider your existing design and color palette. If you are unsure what color works for your space, we recommend sticking to neutral colors. Neutral colors tend to go with everything. But if you want to make your sofa the focal point of the room, go for a couch that adds a pop of color!

Shelves

If you have a small home with limited space, we highly recommend adding shelves. Apart from the additional storage space, shelves also make a space versatile. You can fill up the shelves with various things including books, shoes, winter wear, magazines, and so on. You can also use the shelves to display various decors. Shelves do not just add versatility to a space; they also warm up your home. You can get either mountable shelves or traditional shelves.

A Fresh Coat of Paint

Nothing like a fresh coat of paint to brighten up the living room! If your color palette is no longer appealing or you are now ready for a change, consider painting your living space. A fresh coat of paint breathes life back to dreary, outdated living room. The paint color will depend on what you are hoping to achieve. If you want the color scheme to be subtle and bright, then we recommend sticking to neutrals and whites. But if you want to make an impact, consider adding an accent wall.

The kind of paint color you choose will also make the room appear larger or smaller. The general rule of thumb is to choose light colors if you want to make a room appear bigger and deeper colors to shrink the size of the space.

Ottomans

If your living space lacks seating, but you do not want to get a bulky sofa, consider adding colorful ottomans in your living room! Ottomans add more seating to a room; they also warm up the living space! And you don’t have to get color-coordinated ottomans. Mismatched ottomans add character to your living space.

Frames and Artworks

Dress up bare walls with your favorite collection of family photos and artworks. Get several photo frames and pick up a specific point on the wall to hang all the photos up. Then, get a drill to install screws for your photo frames. The key is for the frames to not look too organized. You can also stick several decors to add personality to your snazzy wall!

Carpet

Adding a small to medium-sized carpet adds instant warmth and coziness to a living space. You can get faux fur carpet or a colorful one, it’s your choice! The carpet doesn’t just warm up the space, it also adds a pop of color.
